Leading a
takes patience, practice, and community!
Even before COVID upended routines, you felt things were out of balance.
The world is rapidly changing – between social media, online gaming, and rising health and education costs – parenting can feel extra stressful these days.
You spend a lot of time looking for answers to all your questions :
Is my child spending too much time on devices?
Are they eating healthy foods?
Am I too strict? Not strict enough?
How can I get my child to help out more with chores?
How can I get my teen to talk to me more?
Or my little one to stop throwing tantrums?
You know, someday, you’ll miss this time when they were younger and still wanted and needed your attention. When you had more time to spend together.
Just breathe.
Everything you’re feeling is totally normal.
Yes, it’s uncomfortable and frustrating and hard. But you’re not alone.
How much better would it feel to have a heart-centered support system holding your hand?
How would it feel to have tools to help you, even on your bad days, know you’re providing an environment where your children are growing up feeling safe, loved, and connected, setting a foundation for them to thrive now and in the future?
You’ll go from feeling tired, frustrated, and unappreciated, to knowing that you have the support and tools you and your family need to create more peace and joy, love and laughter, and lots of magical memories together.
And you’ll have a group of like-minded parents holding space for you to process the bumps and celebrate with you during your wins.
As a mom of two, I know that parenting is the hardest job I’ve ever had. Kids don’t come with a user manual.
When my boys were little, my inner perfectionist ran the show. She spent a lot of time comparing our family to others I’d see, convinced that, because our house looked like a Lego monster had vomited all over and the laundry pile was taller than my baby, not only wasn’t I going to win mother-of-the-year, I was an absolute failure at being a mother.
It didn’t matter that my kids were fed and healthy, everyone else seemed to have their shit together but me. I felt unworthy and inadequate.
In trying to live up to some curated version of a “perfect” supermom, I physically and mentally burnt out. And, the negative effects of the pressure I was placing on my children was obvious in their behavior. They whined, slept poorly, and threw tantrums.
My recovery journey was long and painful. But, burning out led me to recognize and reconnect what I knew to be true from my background as a genetic counselor: each and every one of us is unique and different. And, when we tap into our core values and embrace our innate strengths, we build resilience, confidence, and self-awareness and create a strong foundation for us and our children to thrive now and in the future!
Today, I combine my scientific background as a board-certified genetic counselor with my training as a family-centered yoga teacher and parenting coach, to help busy parents and children go from feeling tired and disconnected to finding more fun, ease, and joy together – on and off the mat.
